Modular necromancer and member of audio collective Trash_Audio, Surachai has unleashed a hypnotic new album, Come, Deathless via BL_K Noise. From the opening track, The Shedding of Useful Skin until the final note the listener advances through a labyrinth of methodically controlled chaos. Field recordings layered with modular synths and drum patterns that even Tomas Haake might have trouble reproducing, invite you in—letting go of the wheel, while flooring the gas. Equal parts industrial, electronic and glitch, this album is dark, unclassifiable and that’s exactly why you need to hear it.

To assist in his vision he’s called upon talented collaborators for this creation. These guests include Aaron Harris (Isis the band) on the dirge-like track An Unfamiliar Reflection Activates A Gate. Last October I’d imagine hearing Empress of the Starved Lung featuring K. Joseph Karam (The Locust) live, had the crowd at Berghain going into a trance. For the final track, Surachai introduces Sara Kendall on Time Splits Every End, a haunting closer that stays with you even after the music ends.
